Saint-Vaast abbey in Arras
The Benedictine Saint-Vaast abbey is located just next to the Arras’ cathedral. It was founded in 667 on the Madeleine hill and became the cradle of the future city. Destroyed during the First World War, the abbey was reconstructed on the same model. Today it houses the Arras Fine Arts Museum and the library.
