Book

Book on ArrasArras is the capital of the Pas-de-Calais department in northern France. Having Gallic and Gallo-Roman origins and more than 2,000 years of history, Arras is packed with heritage. The city and its surroundings were badly damaged during the two World Wars, but things have been rebuilt faithfully.

In July 2005, the bell tower of Arras was classified as part of the ‘World Inheritance of Humanity‘ by UNESCO and the Citadel of Arras has recently been classified. In addition, the Canadian War Memorial in Vimy and the famous underground tunnels of Arras (used by the British army during the First World War to defeat the German forces) are just some of the numerous historical treasures in Arras and its surroundings that are covered in this book.

This book is written in three languages: English, French and Spanish with over 100 pictures.

    Hello,
I will be visiting Arras on March 22nd. I am planning to take a train arriving around noon
and leaving at 5:00 pm (same day). I was wondering if you could advise me how
I would get to the Canadian Memorial at Vimy. I don’t want to rent a car.
    Thank you,
    Ken Hundert, Toronto
