Carbet Falls (called “les chutes du Carbet” in French) is a series of waterfalls on the Carbet River in Guadeloupe, located in the Leeward Islands of the eastern Caribbean region. Its three cascades are set amid the tropical rainforests on the lower slopes of the volcano “la Soufrière”.

In 1493, Christopher Columbus noted Carbet Falls in his log. Appropriately, he named Guadeloupe “Karukera”, which translates as the “island of beautiful waters”.

These waterfalls are one of the most popular visitor sites in Guadeloupe, receiving approximately 400,000 visitors annually.

The zoological & botanical park of Guadeloupe

At the heart of the National Park of Guadeloupe, the “Parc des Mamelles” offers a unique opportunity to approach the animals of the West Indies. It’s also an exceptional botanical reserve. The park is open everyday from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Duration of the visit: from 1h30 to 2h. There is a small fee for the visit (12.50 € per adult and 7.5 € per child).
